A man was killed in a fatal crash in Indiana County on Thursday morning, according to the coroner’s office.

A news release said the victim was traveling on Route 954 in a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado at 7:52 a.m. in Center Township when a 2000 Toyota Tundra crossed the centerline.

The vehicles collided head-on, and the damages were severe.

The victim, 25-year-old Andrew David Johnston, was trapped in the driver’s seat and extricated by fire crews. His cause of death is pending at this time.

According to the coroner’s release, he was not wearing a seat belt.

Route 954 was hazardous and slick at the time of the crash, and officials said the driver of the Toyota lost control due to slick road conditions.
