Coroner identifies woman killed in motorcycle crash on Highway 544 near Conway

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — The Horry County Coroner’s Office has identified a woman who was killed in a motorcycle crash on Highway 544 near Conway on Wednesday.

Tara Posey, 52, of Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, died in the crash, the coroner’s office said. The crash happened along Highway 544 near Tiffany Lane.

The motorcycle was traveling westbound on Highway 544 and a 2016 Subaru Forrester was traveling southbound from Tiffany Lane when the two collided, South Carolina Highway Patrol said. Posey was a passenger on the motorcycle and died at a local hospital. The driver of the motorcycle was also taken to a hospital, though their condition was not immediately available.

The two people in the Subaru Forrester were not injured.
