Coronavirus: U.S. death toll passes 70,000

More than 3.6 million people worldwide have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to data from Johns Hopkins University, and over 257,000 have died.
Meanwhile, students in Wuhan, China, the original epicenter of the coronavirus, returned to school on Wednesday wearing masks and filing past thermal scanners.
In the United States, there have been over 1.2 million confirmed COVID-19 cases. More than 71,000 Americans have died. President Trump dismissed the CDC's dire forecast, which projects the U.S. daily death toll to double by June 1. "It’s time to go back to work," Trump said. Trump is also considering disbanding the coronavirus task force despite a growing number of U.S. cases.
