Toyah Battersby is set to receive a surprise proposal ahead of her disappearance on Coronation Street.

Next week viewers will see Toyah go missing as one of Spider Nugent's enemies decides to take revenge over his work as an undercover policeman.

In scenes set to air before the shocking turn of events, Toyah discovers bank statements that reveal that Spider isn't nearly as skint as he has been making out, and a paranoid Toyah decides to go through his laptop.

In the scenes, Spider meets with his superintendent, where he learns how much danger he is in, and he is offered a new job that would mean moving away with a new identity. However, it could be a positive move given Griff Reynolds is still out for him.

However, later in the week one of Spider's enemies demands a meeting, and while Spider informs the police, he doesn't tell Toyah. Yet while waiting in the Freshco's car park, nobody turns up.
