Jack Carroll has received support from his Coronation Street co-stars after a major career achievement over the weekend.

The actor and comedian, who plays Bobby Crawford on the ITV soap, became a BAFTA-winner at Sunday's (May 12) ceremony, taking home the award for Best Short Form for his comedy short Mobility.

The film follows three disabled teenagers in Huddersfield who catch the same mobility bus every day.

Following the win, Jack took to his Instagram account with a picture holding his mask trophy, writing: "Better add BAFTA winner to my CV. Absolutely honoured and astounded."

Sharing their support in the comments, the official Coronation Street account wrote: "Congratulations Jack!!", while many other co-stars also shared their delight.

"Incredible news man! MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU!" added Simon Barlow actor Alex Bain, while Bethany Platt star Lucy Fallon wrote: "Bafta slay."

Amy Barlow actor Elle Mulvaney sent a series of clapping hands, while Max Turner's Paddy Bever posted a celebratory face emoji.

"This is just fabulous," added Cassie Plummer actor Claire Sweeney, while Craig Tinker's Colson Smith quipped: "Can I borrow it [?]".

Jack joined Coronation Street as Bobby last year, the nephew of Carla Barlow, and before that rose to fame on Britain's Got Talent.

Meanwhile, Jack recently predicted that his character could live to regret lying to the police in a desperate bid to save Roy Cropper, who is being held in remand after being wrongly charged for the murder of Lauren Bolton.

"I think [there could be series consequences], that is usually what happens in these situations and certainly DS Swain is not the sort of character that you want to get on the wrong side of, especially when she's got a bee in her bonnet about something," he said.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
