Coronation Street fans don't think Katy is really dead
Coronation Street fans have been comparing Katy Armstrong to EastEnders' Kathy Beale as they predict a shock comeback.
Katy was killed off screen this week as word reached Weatherfield that she'd died in a tragic car crash in Portugal.
Izzy Armstrong was left stunned when she received a call from her absent dad Owen, who dropped the huge bombshell that her sister was dead.
While the sad twist was initially kept under wraps by Corrie, it leaked out that Izzy's younger sister Katy – who was played by Georgia May Foote between 2010 and 2015 – was getting an off-screen death.
The devastating news about Katy has seen her ex-boyfriend Chesney Brown put aside his own health concerns as his thoughts turned to his young son Joseph – who will now be needing him more than ever.
But as the Weatherfield residents mourn the loss of Katy, fans on Twitter are predicting that Katy could make a surprise return from the dead in the future – much like Ian Beale's mum Kathy, who was supposedly killed in an accident abroad as well.

Will Katie do a Kathy Beale in about 20 years time reappear alive and well.

Kathy made a shock comeback during EastEnders' 30th anniversary week – having supposedly been killed off in an accident back in 2006.
Sadly, it doesn't look like there are any plans to bring back Katy for the time being – with recent pap pictures showing Chesney back in the country with Joseph.
However, given that we didn't actually seen Katy get killed, it would certainly be very easy to bring her back further down the line (just ask this lot)...
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV.
