Copper wire thefts surging in Yuba County, sheriff says

(FOX40.COM) — Businesses and farmers in the Yuba County area are being advised to be extra vigilant for copper wire thefts, according to the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department.

The sheriff’s office said that recent thefts have cost victims thousands of dollars in stolen copper and damage left behind from the thefts.

“Copper wire theft is not only an issue in Yuba County, but the entire state and nation has seen a significant increase in thefts,” the sheriff’s department wrote in a news release.
