Copley-Fairlawn board of education appoints new superintendent, effective Aug. 1

The Copley-Fairlawn City Schools board of education has appointed Aimee Kirsch as the district's next superintendent, effective Aug. 1.

The school board voted unanimously for Kirsch during its April 30 meeting.

The position opened with the retirement of current superintendent Brian Poe. His last day will be July 31.

Kirsch has been with the district for seven years, serving as director of pupil services and assistant superintendent.

Before joining the district, Kirsch spent 19 years with Akron Public Schools.

Kirsch has also served as an adjunct professor at John Carroll University and Ashland University.
