Copenhagen pledges $815 million in military aid to Ukraine – Danish FM

Copenhagen announced a new military aid package for Kyiv worth EUR 750 million ($815 million) to strengthen Ukraine's air defense and artillery capabilities, Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen wrote on the ministry’s X account on May 16.

“Pleased to announce a new military support package to Ukraine worth EUR 750 million bolstering their air defense and artillery,” the statement read.

“Denmark looking into opportunities for investing in Ukraine’ defense industry. Denmark stands firmly with Ukraine and its people.”

On Feb. 23, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen signed an agreement on security cooperation and long-term support for Ukraine.

Ukraine is expected to receive ongoing military support in various areas, focusing on air force and anti-aircraft defense, and maritime security with Denmark also supporting Kyiv’s membership in the EU and NATO.

The Danish Defense Ministry previously announced that the first Danish F-16 fighters will be delivered to Ukraine this summer.
