Elmira, N.Y. (WETM)- Happy Tuesday! The mid-week is shaping up to be much drier than anticipated. When can we expect more rain/snow? Details below:

TODAY:

The low that we’ve been tracking up the east coast ended up taking a hard turn farther southeast of our region, keeping the majority of the snow out of our region as well. We are looking mainly cool, cloudy, and breezy this morning and afternoon. By the late afternoon, we may see some stray lake-effect flurries or isolated snow showers thanks to cold air blowing in from the NW. Temperatures today top off in the upper 30s.

TONIGHT:

The chance for isolated snow showers or light flurries is supported throughout the evening and into tomorrow morning. Otherwise, most are just cloudy and breezy. Temperatures tonight are in the low 20s.

REST OF THE WEEK:

High pressure briefly settles in Wednesday afternoon, keeping us dry through Thursday morning. Another system rolls through on Thursday, and it brings a mix of rain and snow by the late afternoon and evening. Lake effect may keep showers around heading into Friday.
