Cookie company called out for resurrection joke

(WJW) – A gourmet cookie company caused controversy with a post about Easter Sunday.

Last Crumb is an L.A.-based company that sells small batch cookies “so good your grandmother will disown you,” its website says.

The company’s Easter Sunday post was written in the same spirit, but some say it went too far.

“Cookies worth resurrecting for…Happy Easter,” Last Crumb posted on social media with a photo that appeared to be an oversized cookie rolled partway across the entryway to a tomb.

“When a company loses all respect over one disrespectful post. Unfollowed,” another bakery responded in the comments.

“Y’all would never post something like this for any other religious holiday,” another user posted.

“Watch us,” Last Crumb responded, seemingly unphased by the concerns.

Many commenters appreciated the joke.

“To all those complaining, Jesus had a sense of humor too,” one person wrote.

“You know God invented joy, happiness, and fun,” another responded.
