Contestant on game show appears shocked when partner laughs at idea of them dating

It’s common for the host of “Let’s Make a Deal” to ask the nature of two contestants relationship. It’s not common, though, for one of the contestants to blatantly misunderstand the nature of that relationship on television.

But that is exactly what seemed to happen for a couple of people that participated on the show.

In the clip below, host Wayne Brady asked a man and a woman how long they had been together.

The man, who has a nametag with “Steve” written on it, answered, “Six months.”

The woman next to him, who had a nametag with “Jessie” written on it, laughed and said, “We’re friends.”

After wrapping her arms around the man, who seemed confused, she said, “We’re just friends but he wants more.”

To which he said, “Can we talk about this … not in front of everyone.”

Moving towards the microphone, she declared to the audience, “I’m single!”

The moment went viral but some are still wondering if it was authentic or staged.

Jessie, it appears, has some acting background but Steve does not appear to be an actor.

Jessie’s Instagram included this photo as well, so it’s hard to decipher if the incident was an act or an actually embarrassing moment.

Brady chimed in after the moment tweeting, "This right here...wow! Lol! I hope they worked things out after the show."
