Actress and Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow has announced she is set to explore the "soul-stretching, pattern-breaking opportunities" of marriage after announcing her engagement to TV producer Brad Falchuk.

This comes four years after she described her split with Coldplay's Chris Martin as a "conscious un-coupling."

In an interview for her lifestyle magazine Goop, she confirmed that she will be marrying Falchuk.

She explained: "[At] midlife, I have tried to accept how complex romantic love can be. I have decided to give it a go again.

"Not only because I believe I have found the man I was meant to be with, but because I have accepted the soul-stretching, pattern-breaking opportunities that (terrifyingly) are made possible by intimacy."

On the front cover of her lifestyle magazine, there is a photograph of him with his arms wrapped around her.

The Oscar-winning actress admitted her divorce "used to feel like a failure; it took me a while to reframe that divorce isn’t a failure."

Paltrow has been dating the producer for around two years, and they have collaborated on a handful of projects together including TV series Glee, which he co-created.

They also worked together on American Horror Story and Scream Queens.

Two years after they announced their "conscious un-coupling", Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow finalised their divorce in 2016, after 13 years of marriage. They have two children together.
