His mother gave FOX 26 this statement: "Bret was a remarkable young man, he was a hard worker, and just full of life! He was a great kid all around. Never met a stranger, anybody, who has ever been in contact with Bret will tell you he could be friends with anybody! I’m heartbroken and will miss him every day! I pray for the other driver's family as I know they are feeling the same pain I feel."

The Conroe Police Officers Association has launched a verified GoFundMe to help gain support for the mother and her family.
