Connie Chung says she was sexually harassed 'every day' as she reacts to Matt Lauer and Charlie Rose scandals

During Thursday night's episode of "Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen," longtime couple Connie Chung and Maury Povich answered questions about some hot-button issues, including the #MeToo movement sweeping Hollywood.

When a viewer phoned in to ask Chung, a longtime broadcast reporter herself who has worked at both NBC and CBS, what she thought about Matt Lauer and Charlie Rose being fired from the "Today" show and "CBS This Morning" by NBC and CBS, respectively, Chung was clear in her answer.

"Let me say for the record that anybody that sexually harassed me is now dead," she started, semi-jokingly. "They're so old!"

"Would you say that you were sexually harassed in your career?" Cohen followed up.

"Oh, yeah! Oh, sure. Yeah. Every day. I mean, a lot. Especially when I started out," Chung responded. "I'm actually proud of CBS and NBC for just taking quick action, because I think some people might be victims of precipitous action, but these two seemed, uh ... the reports about them seemed excessive. And I was thrilled for this moment for women."

Both Lauer and Rose were fired weeks apart last fall after claims of sexual misconduct in the workplace at their respective morning shows were made public.

"I'm sorry, but that's all I should say," Chung finished with a nervous laugh.

Chung worked on broadcast news starting as a correspondent for "CBS Evening News" in the 1970s and has since held positions at NBC, ABC, CNN and MSNBC. She and Povich have been married since 1984 and share one child.
