Congressional races worth watching in central NC
RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Super Tuesday is well underway with a laundry list of candidates hoping to win primary races.
North Carolina lawmakers redrew congressional voting maps last year causing a shake up for candidates in some districts.
Of note is the Congressional District 13 race. The district is currently represented by Democratic Congressman Wiley Nickel. Nickel announced he would not seek reelection after voting maps were redrawn to heavily favor Republicans in that district. While only one Democrat is running for the seat, a pool of 14 Republicans hope to win the primary.
