More than 90 U.S. House Representatives have called on Speaker Mike Johnson to immediately consider the Senate-approved bill providing military aid to Israel and Ukraine, in an open letter published by Representative Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ-005) on April 14.

The document emphasizes the urgency of the matter, given Iran’s recent attack on Israel.

“This weekend, the Iranian regime launched hundreds of drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles directly against our key, democratic ally in the Middle East, Israel,” the letter reads.

“Time is of the essence, and we must ensure critical aid is delivered to Israel and our other democratic allies facing threats from our adversaries around the world.”

The letter urges the Speaker to "put the Senate Supplemental Aid package on the floor for an immediate vote."

The signatories add that the Senate bill garnered overwhelming bipartisan support with 70 out of 100 votes in the Senate, indicating that if it is brought to the House floor on April 15, it could be signed by U.S. President Joe Biden that evening.
