New Conair facility in Washington County to create 700 jobs

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (DC News Now) — Washington County is welcoming 700 new jobs with the opening of a more than 2 million square-foot Conair facility off Downsville Pike near I-70.

The company is a kitchen appliance manufacturer with a separate division devoted to consumer goods.

Washington County faces business, industry growth challenges

The County Commission is awarding $200,000 to match a $2 million commitment from Maryland to help the venture launch.

“This is good employment,” Washington County Commission President, John Barr said. “This is a thriving opportunity to support a growing economy.”

Conair is investing $75 million in the venture.
