Hiker escorted to safety at McKelligon Canyon

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Fire Department’s Combined Search and Rescue team escorted a man to safety Wednesday morning, April 17 after hiking at McKelligon Canyon in Northeast El Paso.

The Fire Department says they responded to reports of a hiker in need of assistance just before 9 a.m. at McKelligon Canyon.

The Fire Department then issued an update just before 10:30 a.m., stating that the hiker was a man in his 20s and was being escorted back to safety.

No further information has been released.
