Comprehensive map shows how Texans voted in the 2024 Democratic Senate primary

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Congressman Colin Allred emerged victorious in Texas’ Democratic Senate primary on March 5, defeating a wide field of other candidates.

Allred received almost 59% of all votes cast in Texas, with second-place State Sen. Roland Gutierrez at 16.6%.

Allred’s final margin of victory was more than 400,000 votes.

KXAN has mapped precinct-level results in counties across the state to get a better picture of how Texans voted.

At this time, precinct-level results are available in 105 of Texas’ 254 counties. The map below will be updated when additional data becomes available.

We currently have results data for 6,957 precincts across Texas. At least one vote was cast in 6,507 of those precincts.

Delegate Tracker: Results of the 2024 Republican and Democratic primaries

Allred won the most votes in 5,655 precincts, while Gutierrez won 384 precincts. Mark Gonzalez won 226 precincts. Various other candidates won in 59 precincts. A total of 182 precincts saw a tied result.

Allred’s strongest support was in North Texas. The Congressman represents Texas’ 32nd Congressional District, which covers parts of Dallas, Collin and Denton counties. He won 100% of the vote in 123 precincts statewide and at least 90% of the vote in a further 149 precincts.

Gutierrez’s support was strongest along the border with Mexico. The state senator’s district covers a vast section of the border from Brewster to Maverick counties, as well as Uvalde and parts of San Antonio. He won 100% of the vote in 15 precincts.

Mark Gonzalez’s strongest support was in portions of South Texas and the Corpus Christi area, where he was formerly district attorney in Nueces County. He won 100% of the vote in six precincts.
