Commissioners choose designers for renovations

Feb. 10—LIMA — Allen County Commissioners are moving forward on plans to construct both a new administration building and a new child support enforcement agency building.

Commissioners have approved a resolution to move forward in creating a contract with WDC Group LLC in Springfield, Ohio.

"Today, we accepted that recommendation on both of those and we'll begin the process of negotiating with them and hopefully begin the design," said Allen County Commissioner Cory Noonan. "That will take a little bit of time because it will take a lot of meetings and discussions that happen with all the offices that are involved in this transition. We want to understand what the needs are and what those structures need to look like."

Although there is no set location Noonan also said the goal is to have the two structures close to one another. Once the buildings are finished. Commissioners hope to vacate the courthouse for renovations.

Noonan also added the hope is to complete the courthouse renovations by the 200th anniversary of Allen County in 2031.
