Commercial structure fire in Appleton causes around $250K in damages

APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – A commercial structure fire caused around $250,000 in damages in Appleton on Tuesday morning.

According to the Appleton Fire Department, firefighters were sent to the 800 block of North Meade Street at around 11:30 a.m. for a report of a structure fire. The initial call indicated smoke was filling the building, and no flames were visible.

Upon arrival, employees were evacuating the building. Firefighters found smoke and located electrical panels that were on fire. Crews utilized fire extinguishers and handlines to put out the fire. Everything was brought under control within an hour of arriving on the scene.

Firefighters are working to determine an official cause. Damage to the building and contents is estimated to be around $250,000. No additional details were provided.
