New commanding officer announced for Blue Angels

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — The U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron has announced their commanding officer for the upcoming seasons.

According to a Facebook post, the announcement that Commander Adam “Gilligan” Bryan will succeed Commander Alex Armatas as the commanding officer for the 2025 and 2026 seasons was made at a press conference on April 16.

Bryan, a native of Canton Connecticut, came to the Blue Angels with previous experience as a commanding officer.

“What I’ve always really enjoyed is being a part of an incredible team and seeing them succeed,” said Cmdr. Adam Bryan. “I put the success of the team as my personal goal and what I’ve always strived for. If they’re doing well, then I’m doing well.”

The transfer will occur at the end of the 2024 show season in November, according to the post.
