Commander of maintenance group relieved of command at Holloman AFB

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The commander of the maintenance group at Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, New Mexico, has been relieved of his duties by the commander at the base.

The move was announced in a short news release sent out by Holloman Air Force Base and the 49th Wing on Monday, March 25.

Col. Danzel Albertsen, commander of the 49th Maintenance Group, was relieved of his command due to loss of confidence in his ability to lead, according to the news release.

Col. Justin Spears, commander of the 49th Wing, “determined new leadership was necessary to ensure proper command climate and appropriate leadership of our Airmen,” the news release read.

The deputy commander of the 49th Maintenance Group, Lt. Col. Kristen Torma, will assume command of that unit effective immediately, according to the news release.
