Comic Relief's Funny for Money 2024 fundraising total revealed

Comic Relief 2024 has revealed the amount of money it has raised following a three-hour telethon on BBC One.
At the time of writing Comic Relief: Funny for Money has raised a total of £37,019,832 for Sir Lenny Henry's final time hosting the fundraising extravaganza. The figure is up from 2023's Red Nose Day 2023, which saw donations drop to a total of £31,952,141.
"Wow... that is a lot of money, thank-you so much," Henry said of the amount. "It's been an honour, it's been a pleasure."
Joining Henry for his last time fronting the show were an all-star team of presenters, including Romesh Ranganathan, Maya Jama, David Tennant, Davina McCall, Joel Dommett, Rosie Ramsey and Paddy McGuinness.

The telethon featured a host of comedy sketches and live performances, featuring appearances from a variety of famous faces.
Gentleman Jack's Suranne Jones starred as Claudia Winkleman in a spoof movie version of hit show The Traitors, featuring season two fan-favourites Mollie Pearce and Harry Clark as well as Harry Clark.
Jamie Dornan also made an appearance as his The Tourist character Elliot Stanley to face off against Clive Myrie in the iconic Mastermind chair, while Kate Winslet read an expletive filled bedtime story.
Dragons' Den star Sara Davies, Vicky Pattison, presenter Alex Scott and Laura Whitmore also braved the arctic for an expedition to the Arctic Circle, raising £630,294 for the cause.

Henry also performed his own version of Ryan Gosling's hit Barbie song titled 'I'm just Len', complete with his own fur coat.
The presenters also paid tribute to the "extraordinary legacy" of Henry during his final time helming the show, which has seen him raise over 1.5 billion pounds since his debut show in 1988.
Singer Jerub also performed Henry's favourite song 'A Change Is Gonna Gome' while the donation total was tallied as a tribute to the actor.
