Comfort Revolution opens Miss. plant

Comfort Revolution expects to bring 200 to 300 jobs to Belmont in north Mississippi

BELMONT, Miss. (AP) -- Comfort Revolution, a manufacturer of high-end sleep products, has held a ribbon-cutting for its new plant in Belmont, Miss., in Tishomingo County.

State officials had announced last fall that the company would locate in a 432,650-square-foot building formerly occupied by Schnadig Furniture Corporation. The company plans to create 200-300 jobs within three years.

The West Long Branch, N.J., company is a leading developer and marketer of high-end mattresses, mattress toppers and pillows.

Comfort Revolution CEO Michael Fux says he first opened a plant in Mississippi in 1978, and in 2003 opened a plant for his former employer, Sleep Innovations in Baldwyn, which is still in operation.

Fux says the company expects to begin manufacturing in late April or early May after equipment setup and testing.
