Former FBI Director James Comey heaped praise on special counsel Robert Mueller on Thursday, while addressing Mueller’s investigation into the alleged collusion between President Trump’s campaign associates and Russia.

Comey said Mueller, also a former FBI director, would “turn over all the rocks” in the probe.
Comey did not say whether or not he personally believes Trump obstructed justice by firing him. But Comey noted that Trump said he “hoped” the then-FBI director would “let go” of an investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn. That conversation occurred shortly after Trump fired Flynn for misleading the administration about contacts he had with Russia, Comey said.
“That’s up to Bob Mueller’s job to find out,” Comey said of any potential obstruction of justice.
Comey also reportedly spoke to Mueller about his testimony before appearing before the committee Thursday and gave Mueller all of his memos related to the case to aid the investigation.
Earlier in his testimony, Comey said he released his memos regarding a conversation between himself and Trump to the New York Times through a third party in hopes that a special counsel would be appointed to the case.
