Columbia police search for suspect after man killed in Sunday shooting

Columbia police are searching for Isaac Bryant, 35, of Columbia, for his alleged involvement in the shooting death of Demetrius Ware, 37, also of Columbia, early Sunday.

Police were called at about 12:37 a.m. Sunday to the 800 block of Grand Avenue in reference to a shots-fired report.

Officers located Ware upon arrival. He died after being transported to a local hospital by EMS, the department reported. His next of kin was notified.

A no-bond warrant was issued for Bryant on suspicion of second-degree murder and armed criminal action.
