This Colts player’s career has been cut short
The average career on an NFL player in today’s game is just 3.3 years. The shortest of the four major sports in America. Sometimes a player is not good enough to stay around, but in this case of former Colts running back Tyler Varga that is not true.
Varga shocked the world (sort of) by making the Colts opening day roster last season as an undrafted free agent from Yale.

The former Colt running back suffered a concussion last season, and his symptons lasted months and just simply would not go away. That forced him to miss the 13 games last season.
Although listed as a fullback on the roster, Varga was a lot more than that. He was on special teams, and was learning the running back position from veteran Frank Gore.
Colts players reported to training camp yesterday, and Varga was a no show. Shortly after they placed him on the reserved/ retired list. Cutting the 22 year olds career short after just one season.
ROSTER UPDATE: We have signed free agent running back Abou Toure. We also placed running back Tyler Varga on the Reserve/Retired list.

Luckily for Varga, he has that Yale education to fall back on. We wish him the best of luck, and it is never a good thing to see a young mans career cut so short.
Best of luck in anything you do Tyler.
