Colts injury report is not promising

The Indianapolis Colts are trying to win back-to-back games for the first time this season.

And while the Colts have Andrew Luck playing at an elite level, he will need help this weekend against the Chiefs. Some of that help however might not be there Sunday.

After missing the game against the Titans last week it was presumed that Jack Mewhort would be back the next week. But here we are, and the Colts have no idea if their best offensive lineman will be back in the lineup.

Mewhort’s Pro Football Focus player grade of 83.1 is the highest among the Colts offensive lineman. And puts him at the 14th overall guard in the league. A far cry from rookie Joe Haeg’s grade of 52.5.

As for Henry Anderson, the defensive lineman looks like he might miss his second straight game as well. After coming back during Week 3 he looked to be slowly coming back to form. That was until another knee injury during the Houston game set him back.

Anderson was the clear-cut best rookie for the Colts last year before tearing his ACL. He is the Colts’ best run stopping defensive lineman. And with Anderson out Sunday, the Colts 25th ranked rushing defense will be left short-handed again.

The bright spot here however is the fact that Donte Moncrief looks to return this weekend. So if rookie Chester Rodgers cannot go, Luck will at least get back one of his best targets.
