Colquitt County schools delayed due to threat of severe weather

May 9—MOULTRIE — The Colquitt County School System is delaying the start of school Friday due to the threat of severe weather in the early morning hours.

In an email to The Observer, the school system provided this schedule for students/staff:

— Busses will begin rolling at 8 a.m. picking elementary students up first, then secondary students after.

— Elementary students will report at 9:30 a.m. and staff at 8:45 a.m.

— Middle, junior high and high school students will report at 10 a.m. Staff will report at 9 a.m.

School Nutrition will be providing breakfast and lunch.

Any changes to the school day will be communicated via REMIND (text/email/app notifications), employee email, social media postings on all school and district pages, websites, and local media outlets.
