Colorado women's basketball: Full 2022-23 schedule finally released

Oct. 11—With the start of the regular season less than one month away, the 2022-23 schedule finally is complete for the Colorado women's basketball team.

Although the weekend pairings for Pac-12 Conference play already were released, the announcement on Tuesday arrived less than four weeks ahead of the Nov. 7 season opener at home against New Mexico State at noon. The CU men's team opens the season that night at home against UC Riverside.

The Buffs will play six nonconference home games against NMSU, Jackson State (Nov. 12), Air Force (Nov. 19), Western Michigan (Nov. 30), Southern Utah (Dec. 7) and Alcorn State (Dec. 16). The game against Jackson State will be part of the preseason WNIT, which also will include games against Louisiana (Nov. 15) and Texas Tech (Nov. 16) in Lubbock, Texas.

The nonconference schedule also is highlighted by a series of road games at Tennessee (Nov. 25), Chicago State (Nov. 27), Boise State (Dec. 4) and Marquette (Dec. 21).

CU, coming off its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2013, opens Pac-12 play at Utah on Dec. 14 and begins playing exclusively within the league with a road series at Washington (Dec. 30) and Washington State (Jan. 1).

All 18 of the Buffs' Pac-12 games will be televised by the Pac-12 Networks.

"We are extremely excited for the upcoming basketball season and believe that once again, we will play a challenging schedule that will prepare us for the rigors of Pac-12 play," CU head coach JR Payne said in a statement. "It's been many years since we have played this many road games in (nonconference) but we believe this will allow our team to grow in various ways. Our team has worked hard all summer and fall and has put in the work that will allow us to build on the great season that we had last year. We have high expectations for our ballclub and know that the work we are putting in is preparing us for another great season."

CU also will host Adams State for an exhibition game on Nov. 1.
