Coloccini doing fine with Toon

Newcastle captain Fabricio Coloccini has put his requested transfer saga behind him, and is now targeting silverware with the Toon. The Argentine had been at the centre of a dispute with his employers in January after claiming he wanted to leave the Tyneside club for 'personal reasons'. But with his desired move not materialising, the centre-back has now declared the episode firmly behind him, and wants to focus on finishing the season well with the Magpies. "Yes. I am happy to play now. When the situation was finished, I said to the club that we can turn the page, we have moved on. I'm only focusing on the club now," Coloccini said. "Next season, I don't know. I just want to be focused on the Premier League and the Europa League this season." The 31-year-old also addressed the Geordie club's failure to win major silverware in recent years, and is hoping to correct that this season when Newcastle head into Thursday's Europa League last-32 second leg with Metalist Kharkiv. "Newcastle have won nothing for so many years and that is wrong," he continued. "We want to put that right and get our names in the history books. "We showed in the first leg that we can create chances against them, so that has got to give us confidence." Newcastle travel to Ukraine hoping to be more clinical following the goalless first-leg draw at St James' Park last week.
