Colin Kaepernick's donation helps non-profit feed 40 incarcerated men
Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is still impacting lives away from the football field. Part of Kaepernick’s $1 million donation last September went toward making sure incarcerated men at Riker’s Island were fed a special meal during the holiday season.
Kevin Livingston, who runs the non-profit 100 Suits for 100 Men, brought the food over to Riker’s Island, and shared a video explaining what the $33,000 that Kaepernick gave to his non-profit has been used for thus far.

Kaepernick spread his initial $1 million donation among various groups promoting racial equality. He gave roughly a portion of that to 100 Suits for 100 Men.
As Livingston explains in the video, roughly 40 men were fed a special meal thanks to Kaepernick. He points out that 80 percent of the men who received food were not convicted of crimes. They were only being held.
Livingston also explains where some of the money Kaepernick gave the non-profit has beed used thus far. Livingston also put a portion toward providing suits for men awaiting trial, or recently released men who can’t afford business clothes for job interviews.
Kaepernick has spent most of 2017 contributing to social causes. He was recently given the Muhammad Ali Legacy Award by Sports Illustrated and Ali’s family for his dedication to leading the “fight for social justice.”
