Colin Ford, Ellie Bamber, Timothy Simons Lead ‘Extracurricular Activities’

EXCLUSIVE: Colin Ford (Supernatural), Ellie Bamber (Nocturnal Animals), and Timothy Simons (Veep) have joined the cast of director Jay Lowi’s Extracurricular Activities, a dark comedy/thriller being produced under Lowi and David Wilson’s Free Chicken Films shingle.

Paul Schiff (Young Guns, Rushmore, Maid in Manhattan) and Rich Hull (She’s All That, American Psycho II) serve as executive producers. The trio of actors join an ensemble cast in the film that also features Angela Kinsey (The Office), Steve Hytner (Seinfeld), Mad TV‘s Bobby Lee and Arden Myrin, Sarah Hay (Flesh and Bone), and Patrick Fabian (Better Call Saul), Christine Ko (The Great Indoors) and Dileep Rao (Inception, Avatar).

The film follows Reagan Collins (Ford), a model high school student with “a killer” after-school job as he arranges “accidents.” When his classmates’ parents become too overbearing, self-obsessed, or just plain inconvenient, Reagan offers to kill them for a price. But when seasoned police detective Cliff Dawkins (Simons) starts putting the pieces together, it’s a battle of wits to see if Reagan can keep business booming while the rising body count brings Cliff ever-closer to the truth.

The film is currently shooting in Los Angeles with the benefit of a CA tax credit. UTA will rep the project for worldwide sales.

Lowi’s previous credits include Wild Things: Diamonds in the Rough and Tangled. He is producing the project with his business partner David K. Wilson (Jake Squared, Girl Flu.) from a script by Bob Saenz (Help for the Holidays, The Right Girl).

Ford, whose other credits include Under the Dome and We Bought a Zoo, is repped by UTA and Management 360. Bamber (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies) is repped by UTA and Curtis Brown Group. Simons, whose other credits include Inherent Vice and The Interview is repped by UTA and Brillstein Entertainment.
