Apple TV+ has released a first trailer for Colin Farrell's brand new detective drama Sugar, ahead of its release next month.

The eight-part series follows an American private investigator who tries to uncover the secrets surrounding a high-profile disappearance case.

"Academy Award-nominee Colin Farrell stars as John Sugar, an American private investigator on the heels of the mysterious disappearance of Olivia Siegel, the beloved granddaughter of legendary Hollywood producer Jonathan Siegel," reads the official synopsis for the series.

"As Sugar tries to determine what happened to Olivia, he will also unearth Siegel family secrets; some very recent, others long-buried."

The spine-tingling trailer sees Farrell's character John begin his case into Olivia's disappearance, before things take a dark turn as he gets closer to the truth.

"Someone once said: 'Tip the world on its side and everything loose lands in Los Angeles'. After all this time, is this place starting to turn me upside down?" says John, as secrets start to catch up with him.
