New coffeeshop, retail, restaurant combo approved near Howell
GENOA TWP. — A new commercial center designed for a drive-thru coffee shop, retailer and restaurant is planned near Howell.
Developer Kevin Bahnam got the greenlight from Genoa Township officials for the approximately 8,925-square-foot multi-tenant commercial building on the east side Latson Road, on vacant land south of Grand River Avenue and north of the I-96 interchange.
The center will include multiple leasable tenant spaces, according to documents submitted to the township. Design plans show three spaces. Those could be split up for as many as six tenants with their own entrances.
The center is designed to house a drive-thru coffee shop on the north end, general retail space in the middle, and a restaurant with outdoor seating on the south end.
Bahnam did not respond to a request for comment from The Daily.
Genoa Township Manager Kelly VanMarter told The Daily he and his development team "did not indicate that they have any tenants planned."

Officials approved Monday, April 1, a special land use permit, site plan and environmental impact assessment for the center.
They also approved a Mister Car Wash with an automatic wash and vacuum stations for vacant land one of Bahnam's investment firms owns to the north, between an existing O'Reilly Auto Parts and the future commercial center.
Bahnam already has a presence in the township as the owner of USA 2 Go, which operates a gas station and convenience store on S. Latson Road. He and investors purchased Middletown Market at 5580 E. Grand River Ave. in 2023.
