Coffee linked to lower oral cancer risk

Rating: 0.0 (0 votes) A new study reveals drinking coffee can reduce your risk of oral cancer. Researchers with the American Cancer Society followed nearly one million men and women, tracking their diet and health history. After adjusting for smoking, alcohol consumption and other factors, the risk of death from oral cancer was 26% lower among those who drank one cup of coffee a day, compared to non-coffee drinkers. The risk dropped 33% for those who drank two to three cups and 50% for those who consumed four to six cups each day. Only caffeinated coffee reduced oral cancer risk. Researchers found no such association among decaf or tea drinkers.
