Coffee Co. resident honored for his work in the Shiloh Community

COFFEE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — The Coffee County NAACP branch honored resident Timothy Williams with the “Through the Storm Award” for his leadership in the Shiloh Community’s Journey To Justice.

Williams has been at the center of bringing a voice to the historically black community of Shiloh, which for the past 6 years has sustained severe flooding problems.

The community has asked for help, but it wasn’t until last year that the problem was under a national spotlight.

This includes collaboration with environmental justice advocate Dr. Robert Bullard and a visit from the Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg.
