Cocoanut Row, Barton Avenue see closures today for sewer work

Heavy morning traffic on the The Royal Park Bridge March 12, 2024 in Palm Beach.

Repairs to a sewer main line will affect traffic today on two streets until 5 p.m., town officials announced.

Cocoanut Row will be reduced to one lane of traffic, with the northbound lane closed. Flaggers will direct traffic into southbound lane of the road.

Additionally, the 200 and 300 blocks of Barton Avenue will be closed to through traffic. Access to the road will be available only at South County Road.

The work is being done by a contractor for the Water Resources Division. If you have any questions, please call Water Resources Manager Jeff Coleman at 561-227-7018.

The U.K.'s self-proclaimed "world-leading" regulations for self-driving cars are now official, after the Automated Vehicles (AV) Act received royal assent -- the final rubber stamp any legislation must go through before becoming enshrined in law. "While this doesn’t take away people’s ability to choose to drive themselves, our landmark legislation means self-driving vehicles can be rolled out on British roads as soon as 2026, in a real boost to both safety and our economy," Transport Secretary Mark Harper said in a statement.
