Coat campaign ends

Feb. 15—HIGH POINT — Give A Kid A Coat wrapped up its 34th annual campaign on Saturday after receiving 17,211 coats for families in need.

Since its inception in 1987, Give A Kid A Coat has collected, cleaned and distributed more than 923,909 coats, according to Chris Edwards, the campaign's founder and the president of A Cleaner World.

"It's encouraging to see our community step up to the plate in the last week of this year's campaign," Edwards said. "The Salvation Army, Fox8, 1075KZL, Rock92 and AAA Self Storage and all of the employees at A Cleaner World thank you for making this a win for the children of our area."

The collection process and much of the distribution schedule is complete, but the Salvation Army continues to distribute coats at their family stores. Families in need of coats can contact their local Salvation Army office for distribution information.
