CMPD officer awarded Charlotte’s employee of the year

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Congratulations to Jeffrey Joseph, a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officer who was named the employee of the year by the City of Charlotte at the Govie Awards.

Sergeant Joseph spearheaded the CMPD Serves Program, the first formalized customer experience program for law enforcement in the country.

He was part of the initial focus groups for the program and grew to become a lead instructor, teaching more than 40 classes and attending team meetings across different CMPD divisions to ensure work was carried over into officers’ daily routines.

In 2023, Sergeant Joseph identified and recommended more than 100 CMPD employees for Acts of Excellence for work that exemplified the teachings of CMPD Serves.

We are very proud of Sergeant Joseph and the dedication he’s shown to a program that is setting a positive nationwide standard for policing.
