Clouds linger, breezy and cooler, more sun Thursday

Columbus and Central Ohio Weather

Skies will feature lingering low clouds that will thin out this evening, as drier air moves into Ohio. Readings sank into the mid-40s with a chilly northwesterly flow.

High pressure will build into the region from the west and lead to gradual clearing skies tonight, with morning readings dipping below freezing. Plenty of sunshine is in store for us on Thursday, with light winds.

A warm front will nose into the state from the west, allowing for more clouds and a few sprinkles to develop late Thursday night into Friday morning. Those will move on in the afternoon, allowing for some sunshine and milder weather.

Clouds will thicken Friday night ahead of a northern system that will bring showers to start the day on Saturday, as it travels over the southern Great Lakes. Skies will remain mostly cloudy, with readings near 60 degrees later int he day.

Some rain could linger early on Easter Sunday in the southern part of the state, before moving away. Clouds will stay behind through the day ahead of the next low-pressure system that could bring rain back toward sunset.

A stronger system coming out of the Plains will follow early next week, with periods of rain and a few storms through Tuesday.
