Clorox boosts quarterly dividend 11 percent

Clorox increases quarterly dividend 11 percent to 71 cents per share

NEW YORK (AP) -- Clorox is raising its quarterly dividend 11 percent to 71 cents per share from 64 cents per share.

The consumer products maker, whose products include its namesake bleach and Glad bags, said Tuesday that the dividend will be paid on Aug. 9 to shareholders of record on July 24.

Earlier this month the Oakland, Calif. company said that its fiscal third-quarter net income climbed slightly as price hikes helped amid bad weather conditions that hindered sales of its Kingsford brand charcoal. But its performance missed Wall Street estimates, and Clorox Co. lowered the high end of its full-year revenue forecast, due to lower charcoal sales and other issues.
