If you're dreaming of warm spring days and more hours of sunshine, here are some important dates to keep in mind.

When does time change in 2024?

Daylight saving time begins when we "spring forward" an hour at 2 a.m. local time Sunday, March 10. That means we'll lose an hour of sleep as we jump directly to 3 a.m. but gain more sunny hours in the day.

Daylight saving time will end at 2 a.m. local time Sunday, Nov. 3, when we "fall back" an hour, gaining an hour of sleep and shorter days.

We then spring forward again at 2 a.m. local time Sunday, March 9, 2025.

When is Ramadan?

Ramadan is expected to begin on the evening of Monday, March 11, following the sighting of the moon. That could change based on confirmation of the moon sighting.

Seen as the most holy month in Islam, Muslims mark the occasion with dawn to sundown fasting, prayers and community meals.

Ramadan ends on the evening of Tuesday, April 9. Eid al-Fitr, celebrating its end, is the following day.

When is the first day of spring?

The first day of spring, or the vernal equinox, is Tuesday, March 19.

According to Almanac.com, the season officially arrives at 11:06 p.m. EDT.

When is Lent in 2024?

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, Wednesday, Feb. 14, this year, and ends on Thursday, March 28, Holy Thursday.

The Christian Lenten period, which leads up to Easter, is a time of repentance and preparation.

When is St. Patrick's Day 2024?

St. Patrick's Day, the feast day of the patron saint of Ireland, happens every year on March 17.

In 2024, the celebration of all things Irish falls on a Sunday.

When is Holi 2024?

The Indian festival of colors is Monday, March 25.

It celebrates the victory of good, marking the end of winter and arrival of spring, as well as the start of the spring harvest.

When is Easter 2024?

If you tend to associate Easter with April, watch out.

This year, the Christian holiday of Easter will be observed on Sunday, March 31.

Think that's early? According to Almanac.com, in the Gregorian calendar, Easter can fall any time between March 22 and April 25.

Eastern Orthodox Easter will happen Sunday, May 5.

When is Passover 2024?

This year, the Jewish holiday of Passover, or Pesach, begins at sundown on Monday, April 22, and ends at sundown on Tuesday, April 30.

For Jews in Israel, the holiday, which commemorates liberation from slavery in Egypt, is a day shorter, ending on the evening of Monday, April 29.
