Clinton's Best Debate Lines

From Cosmopolitan

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, who are neck and neck in the polls, faced off in the first presidential debate of the 2016 election. Though Trump is known for his colorful comments during debates, Clinton managed to get in a lot of zingers, too. Here are her best moments from the first presidential debate:

1. Clinton takes on Trump's spotty business record, which includes allegations of fraud against Trump University:

Do the thousands of people that you have stiffed over the course of your business not deserve some kind of apology from someone who has taken their labor, taken the goods that they produced, and then refused to pay them?

I can only say that I'm certainly relieved that my late father never did business with you. He provided a good middle-class life for us, but the people he worked for, he expected the bargain to be kept on both sides.

And when we talk about your business, you've taken business bankruptcy six times.

2. When Clinton straight up mocks Trump for saying "crazy things":

Clinton: I have a feeling that by, the end of this evening, I'm going to be blamed for everything that's ever happened.

Trump: Why not?

Clinton: Why not? Yeah, why not? You know, just join the debate by saying more crazy things.

3. Clinton acknowledges racial injustice in America:

Race remains a significant challenge in our country. Unfortunately, race still determines too much, often determines where people live, determines what kind of education in their public schools they can get, and, yes, it determines how they're treated in the criminal justice system.

4. And again:

Too many young African-American and Latino men ended up in jail for nonviolent offenses. And it's just a fact that if you're a young African-American man and you do the same thing as a young white man, you are more likely to be arrested, charged, convicted, and incarcerated. So we've got to address the systemic racism in our criminal justice system.

5. Clinton's mic drop moment:

I think -- I think Donald just criticized me for preparing for this debate. And, yes, I did. And you know what else I prepared for? I prepared to be president. And I think that's a good thing

6. While Trump bemoans the power of soundbites, Clinton acknowledges the power of words:

Words matter. Words matter when you run for president. And they really matter when you are president.

7. After he accuses Clinton of lacking "stamina," Clinton takes aim at Trump's comments about women:

This is a man who has called women pigs, slobs and dogs... One of the worst things he said was about a woman in a beauty contest. He loves beauty contests, supporting them and hanging around them. And he called this woman "Miss Piggy."

8. And this shimmy:

Election Day is Nov. 8. If you haven't registered to vote yet, you can do so here.
