Clinton ad compares Trump to Biff Tannen and other movie bullies
Hillary Clinton’s campaign released an unusual but striking TV ad on Monday that labeled Donald Trump “America’s bully.”
The commercial directly compared Trump to famous movie bullies, including Scut Farkus from “A Christmas Story,” Regina George from “Mean Girls” and Biff Tannen from the “Back to the Future” series. (Tannen’s character was reportedly influenced in part by Trump.)
Clips of Trump mocking his political foes and celebrities were interspersed with movie scenes in which the actors echoed the Republican nominee’s insults.
The ad concludes by cutting to Clinton comforting a young girl who said she was bullied because of her asthma. Clinton tells the girl that she’s “really brave,” adding, “We need more love and kindness in our country.”
Past Clinton TV spots have also featured Trump’s insults.
One ad showed girls looking at themselves in mirrors as audio of Trump criticizing women’s appearances played. Another showed young children supposedly watching Trump on TV making some of his most provocative comments.
