Climate Activists Disrupt Westminster Dog Show

Climate Activists Disrupt Westminster Dog Show Activists from Extinction Rebellion interrupted the Masters Agility Championship Finals of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show on Saturday, May 11. Footage released by the group shows several climate protesters running onto the turf, waving signs that read “No dogs on a dead planet.” Extinction Rebellion said it staged the disruption of the event to generate a discussion of its demands and adequate solutions to tackle the issues associated with rising global temperatures. “We are not protesting dog lovers, nor are we protesting the dog show. We are demanding that we all acknowledge the reality of the climate catastrophe that is unfolding before us all. If we don’t disrupt, nature will! Nature’s disruption will last much longer”, Miles Grant, an Extinction Rebellion spokesperson said. Meredith Faltin, an Extinction Rebellion activist, said: “We want the dog show to continue for generations to come! If we don’t act now, that won’t be possible.” Credit: Extinction Rebellion via Storyful
