Cleveland Metroparks 2024 Race Series announced

CLEVELAND (WJW) — Cleveland Metroparks is offering four “unique” races and walks for its 2024 Race Series, which steps off the starting line on April 21, just ahead of Earth Day.

Participants can pre-register now through April 20 for the Earth Day 5K, starting at 8:30 a.m. on April 21 at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, according to a news release.

Registration through April 16 costs $30 and $35 after. Participants can get into the zoo, get refreshments, a custom shirt and a medal if they finish. Proceeds will go toward the zoo’s “green practices and sustainability efforts.”

The race series is now in its third year and is “a great way to experience the parks, connect with nature, wildlife and our park community,” said Cleveland Metroparks CEO Brian Zimmerman.

Pre-registration is $30 for each race. Signing up for all four races at once costs $100. As of Wednesday, March 20, there were more than 500 spots still available.
