CLEMSON – At least according to the latest depth chart, three defensive backs for Clemson football will return to the field for a top-10 matchup against NC State.

Safety Andrew Mukuba, cornerback Sheridan Jones and nickel back Malcolm Greene all missed last week's 51-45 double-overtime victory at Wake Forest and the result was Demon Deacons quarterback Sam Hartman throwing for six touchdowns.

Fifth-ranked Clemson (4-0, 2-0 ACC) plays at home Saturday (7:30 p.m., ABC) against the No. 10 Wolfpack (4-0, 0-0) at Memorial Stadium. ESPN's "College GameDay" will be on campus for a national spotlight game.

Mukuba (elbow) is listed as the starter at strong safety, Jones (stinger) as a co-starter at cornerback with Nate Wiggins and Greene (undisclosed) behind Barrett Carter as a hybrid linebacker/defensive back for passing situations. Wiggins is also listed as the co-starter with Fred Davis at the other cornerback spot, so it could be those two sharing the position if Jones is indeed able to play.

Xavier Thomas, who injured a foot in spring practice and needed surgery, was not listed on the depth chart. The Tigers were hopeful that he would miss only three or four games, but it seems that will be extended to at least next week at Boston College.
